How about a trip to Kielder waters need to join £10 but you get free parking for this, their website is:

I’m looking at some time over the easter hols; I think to get the full benefit we need to go for a minimum of 3 day which means we’ll need to camp (or caravan in my case),
Where to stay
There are several camping sites in the area, I’ve stayed at the Caravan Club site, this is for caravans only but it’s close Leaplish were there is a camping area, however, there is the Kielder Caravan & Camping Site which caters for both tents and caravans, I’ve never stayed there so can’t say what it’s like, but says it has a shower/toilet block which is the basic minimum requirement.
Rides
There are several levels of rides at Kielder, from easy family friendly tracks to full off roading so we’re not limited to thoughs who want to do one type of riding, it also mean children can come as well.
Final Note
Please let me know it you interested, please add a comment, if there’s enough I arrange the booking.

I am interested, no tent tho
I guess I can sleep under the stars. It would be nice if i could see some of the routes. They site’s down at the moment but I will look later and see if they have some information available. If not I can go get a map from the OS.

You can purchase a “Cycling in Kielder” guide from Tynedale Council by sending a cheque payable to them for £2.30 with a note stating the guide you want (Cycling in Kielder) and send it to: Bellingham TIC, Main Street, Bellingham, Northumberland. NE48 2BQ.
Regarding the tent, I’m sure this can be arranged

Not sure, I know there are tracks around the Kielder waters, but we’ll only be about 60 miles 2.5 hour trip to Glentress from Kielder, so would be a good day trip out.
Try searching for Glentress and Spooky Wood on youtude
