My new chainset arrived on time as expected and I have to say, excellent service from chainreaction. Will defiantly be ordering from there again.
So here is where the fun begins. Now if any of you read my other Post with the issue that I had little to no thread inside my crank, making it near impossible to pull my crank off, well this issue just got a whole lot worse. This time I tried to pull it off it striped all of the thread leaving with no thread for the crank puller to grip onto making it impossible for me to remove the crank.
At this point I was not willing to let it beat me, and desperate people do go to drastic measures.
There where many ways I could remove this crank.
Method One: Try to hammer it out.
Method Two: Hacksaw it off.
Method Three: Chisel it out
Method Four: Drill it out.
Method Five: Use a angel grinder
So which of the five Methods do you think I took to remove the crank, well it was all five and it took me and Matthew over 2 and half hours to remove it.
Out comes the old Bottom Bracket and compared to the new one it weighed a lot more. I did not realise when I bought the crankset that the new bottom bracket was a hollotech II type. It did not tell me when I placed the order it but I should have known if I did my research.
I got to say that the new Bottom Bracket and crankset where very easy to install and faced no issues installing it.
Over all am very happy with my crank and bottom bracket and am looking forward to taking it out for its first run. Defiantly worth the extra cost.
