good map test

Hi guys
We’ve been out on a local through the week.

First time round we met half way up Alters lane (Bingley) starting from from home then on the third run from the bottom car park of St Ives, as you can see from the data the ride its about 13.5 mile with quite a bit of off road, there’s a fast off road section behind what’s locally known as the “Flappit”, this can be fun as there are different worn tracks, so if your doing it at speed you can get caught out. there’s also a section off Ryecroft road that’s entertaining, though still needs more exploring.  you can finish with the run through the woods at St Ives.

we where going to get a full blown GPS system but found a little I got-U device from Maplins, just a simple GPS tracking system  that will create waypoints as you ride that you can download to your PC, with with the right software it’s great and all from less then £40. We had to use another peace of software called topofusion to get the elevation data.
