New Austwick Ride 29th November 2009
Tried out the new Extended Austwick run, this adds a new section onto the beginning with an excellent downhill, does mean there’s a bit of climbing first, bit well worth it.

Andy and Mark did the Kielder deadwater run unfortunately due to flu I wasn’t up to it
Did the 11 mile Bronte Big K with my 11 year old daughter Hollie, 1 hour and 50 minutes, the route was OK though mostly road, only downer was the poor marking of the route.
Anyway, here’s the map
Andy and I did a 15.6 mile ride from Embsey, Rylstone and back, was going to go to Bolton Abbey as well but I wasn’t up to it.
This was a good evening ride unfortunitely with the nights getting darker earlier the videoing was limited, couple of good jumps slightly spoilt by the damp ground conditions.
As a note, don’t go to the Devonshire Arms for a drink afterwards way to pricey

While at Clumber park we tried out the runs at Sherwood pines, not very hilly and the jump section isn’t very good but the downhill section makes up for it.
On the Saturday and Sunday me and Mark did the red run, cycled from Edwinstowe on Saturday making it an 18.6 mile run, the Sunday we just concentrated on the red run (10.9 mile) and had a play in the downhill section which was fun. Monday went with Susan (my wife) and Hollie (11 year old Daughter) and did the blue run, said on their map it was 6 miles but they forgot to mention it started and finished part way through the green run so ended up being 8.9 miles.
Worth noting, the site map isn’t very good and there’s no numbering on the red run so if your not careful you could get lost.
What a brilliant ride, the new sections are well worth a visit, the builders have produced one of the best tracks I’ve been on to date, will be back very very soon with the cameras.

Found this ride near Marks house, excellent track down from the top on the way back, this is the first 3 miles of climbing took about 50 minutes to get to the top and less then 10 minutes to get back down.
Decided to try this North Yorkshire trail, did the red run 23 miles, this is the most challeging run I’ve been on to date but well worth it.

Hi Mark and me went for a ride around the green trail at Grizedale Forest on Sunday, had a great run especially when we found the North Face Mountain Trail, added some fun to the ride. All in all a good day apart for Mark buckling his front wheel.
Anyway here’s the map
